Process Flow 1. Oil pretreatment: The oil needs to be cleaned and impurities removed. Oilseed shelling and peeling.
Kernel-shell separation, oil crushing, softening, embryo rolling, cooked embryo preparation.
Newly developed raw oilseed embryos need to be extruded and expanded.
2. Oil extraction: There are two methods of oil extraction, namely physical pressing and chemical leaching.
The physical pressing method is based on the separation of the oil from the solids in the plant by physical squeezing.
The chemical leaching method is to separate the oil from the plant using a suitable organic solvent, and then to recover the solvent by distillation desolvation, while obtaining the gross oil.
3. Gross oil: It contains substances that are harmful to consumers and requires further processing.
4. Filtration: The suspended oil mixture, through the filtration equipment (plate and frame filter press, blade filter
filter press, tube filter press) so that the liquid oil and grease through the retention of solids, to achieve the purpose of separation and debris.
5. Degumming: It is necessary to remove the gum-soluble impurities in the gross oil, otherwise it will reduce the quality of oil and grease, which is unfavorable to the operation of other refining processes.
6. Deacidification: Mainly to remove the free fatty acids in the gross oil, as well as a small amount of gum, pigments and trace metal substances left in the oil.
7. Decolorization: The color of the grease and some other impurities have to be decolorized to meet the product quality standard.
8. Deodorization: Remove the smell and odor from the grease.
9. Dewaxing: Some oils contain some vegetable waxes, whose presence in the grease will affect the
the transparency and appearance of the oil.
